Precautionary measures for computers
Do you agree with the fact that Electronics has over-powered our life-styles? We live in a world that is superbly controlled by electronics. There is nothing that is not ruled by electronics. We are so occupied with the knowledge and rational aspect of technology that today it is ruling our body and mind, briefly our life-patterns wholly.
I have picked out the most important out of so many essential Electronics performing so many important tasks. Computers which are handling a number of essential tasks need proper attention in order to work properly.
Mentioned below are some of the basics when using computers or similar electronics to reduce the risk of damage at any level.
Always switch off the electronics when not in use. In computers, it can save energy and avoid damage to hardware.
Make sure you turn off your computer if not in use for half an hour and shut down your computers if you are away for about two hours or more.
Set up the screen savers. Though they do not save energy but makes the computer to enter into the sleep mode.
“Phantom energy” is the accumulated energy to power the small OFF or STANDBY lights on electronics. Attach your electronics such as computers to a surge protector to prevent the devices to use “Phantom Energy”.
The cooling vents of computers need to be cleaned on a regular basis. Dusty and clogged vents cause overheating of the Central Processing Unit (CPU) and damage it’s working potential.
Most importantly is the level of brightness of the monitor. Make sure the desktop is appropriately bright, neither too bright nor too low.
Donate your computer to any organization if less than of five years or turn it in for recycling. Computers and electronics contain elements which can be threatening to the environment. Damaged or old ones have elements and components which can be utilized.
These are few of the precautionary measures that can lower the risk of damages during the life span of Electronics. I hope they will prove to be beneficial for you.
